.: Comparing performance of WM2003 and WM2003 Second Edition

I was curious to find out whether users can expect any performance improvement with an upgrade to Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition, too. Considered the current (non-)availability of upgrades, this debate may be a little academic. Still, I compared benchmark results for Toshiba e400 before and after the OS upgrade.

You are surely interested in some charts, so here you are:) As usual, I used the Spb Benchmark utility. Before each test, I performed a hardware reset, so the results should not be distorted in any way. I borrowed the Toshiba e400 from the firm AH Mobile. Before reading on, try and guess what the result was:)

Conclusion

No comment necessary. Perhaps you do not need to regret the decision by most hardware manufacturers to ignore the upgrade for their current devices. The difference of some half a percentage point is insignificant and testifies to the fact that there was no optimisation but changes in the GUI. What do you think?
