Windows Phone 7 Series not for you? For whom, then...?
rating -
We’ve been through another bout of heightened emotions, by which I don’t mean the 35th instalment in the 17th series of that popular soap opera, but the recent MIX10 event where Microsoft unveiled some more details about its new Windows Phone 7 Series platform. And it was not a happy moment for many a Windows Mobile enthusiast because pundits paid attention primarily to what the new system will not be capable of. Disappointed reactions have been pouring on Microsoft from everywhere. If I had a copyright on the phrase "I am finished with WM, switching to ***" and collected royalties for its use, I would have been filthy rich by now. But isn’t it all just a big, big misunderstanding?
Windows Phone 7 Series - MIX10 and what's new for developers
rating -
When Microsoft officially introduced Windows Phone 7 Series about a month ago, detailed information about the new operating system was scarce. Instead, people were referred to the MIX10 congress to take place on March 15-17. Unlike the consumer-oriented Mobile World Congress, this event was intended for developers. What we learned? Besides official hardware specification for Windows Phone 7 Series devices, it was detailed conditions for developers, developer tools, and software distribution and application sale options.
First 60 minutes with HTC Touch (HTC Elf)
rating -
Having been working hard on a new version of the website, I thought I would wait with producing new articles a couple more days. However, new HTC Touch landed on my desk for a few hours, I could not resist trying it out and sharing my impressions with you in this preview. HTC Touch offers something that other Windows Mobile devices lack - a special touch layer and a software application for easy control with fingers. Read on to find out how this works and if it is a step forward.
First 60 minutes with HTC S710 (Vox)
rating -
There are quite a few Windows Mobile devices with an integrated keyboard but I know of none with two. With the exception of HTC S710, that is. This little beauty codename Vox is a smart phone with Windows Mobile 6 Standard as the operating system, intended for devices without a touch screen. It features a standard numeric pad on the front panel like any other mobile phone, as well as a slide-out keyboard resembling that of the HTC P4350 (Herald). I was lucky to get my hands on one of the first specimens to be imported to the country and could subject it to some tests. Read on to learn about an early user experience.

Brief review of the final version of E-TEN Glofiish X500
rating -
When I was writing “Big introduction to pre-production version of E-TEN Glofiish X500” a couple of months ago, I came across some issues. It was hard to tell if they were due to the unfinished, pre-production status of the device or if they were design flaws. That is why I borrowed a final retail version from distributor AH Mobile to check if the issues were fixed. In this article, we deal only with problem areas, and I therefore strongly recommend that you read the preceding review first to understand what this update is about. To make the picture complete, I should note that the device had the latest ROM version, WWE_032_0354.
Big review of Palm Treo 750v
rating -
Palm Treo 750v is the second Palm with a Microsoft operating system. The first one was Treo 700w, which was targeted at users in the United States and was unusable in other geographies because of a specific cell phone module. The new Treo 750v exists also in a European version. The aim of this review is to answer the question whether it was worth waiting for its arrival.

First 60 minutes with Samsung SGH-i600

There are not many smartphones equipped with Windows Mobile and the quickest mobile data connection, called HSDPA, in the Czech market. Therefore, those fond of quick data transmission often have to look for these somewhere else. At least a part of the unsatisfied users, however, could be allured by the tempting offer of Samsung that may persuade them to stay loyal to a system with a waving flag in its emblem. This miracle in the field of mobile technologies is called Samsung SGH-i600...
Big review of ASUS P525

An integrated 2-Mpix digital camera with auto focus, and a numeric keyboard - these are features that differentiate this device from its competitors. Other features include a quad-band cell phone, powerful processor, Bluetooth, WiFi, strong battery, and a host of amenities that make the ASUS P525 a promising device. Unfortunately, there are some drawbacks, too. Find out more in this review.
